Sophomore PresidentAmy Wang
Hello fellow freshmen! I’m Amy Wang, your current freshman class president, and I’m running for SOPHOMORE class president! I’ve always loved being a part of student government; but after the last six months of being freshman class president, I’ve realized that this is what I am; this is what I’m meant to do. So why should you vote for me? Well, first of all, I already have the experience of being class president; I know what my duties and responsibilities are. Second of all, I’ve been extremely dedicated to ASB and freshman council this past year. Freshman council has been a huge time commitment, taking up an average of three lunchtimes per week with meetings and intramurals. However, I am more than willing to sacrifice my own time for the better of our school. So why not vote for me? There’s nothing to lose, and so much to gain! So vote for me, Amy Wang, and re-elect me as your next sophomore class president! Thank you! :) Sidney Zhang
Hey, what’s happenin’ people?? Well, I know what’s happening, SIDNEY ZHANG will be running for SOPHOMORE PRESIDENT! That’s right! I want to be your president and make sure YOU have the best sophomore year possible. Why, you might ask, well, it’s pretty simple. Because I am also going to be a sophomore next year and I want to organize great activities for everybody. In order to make your sophomore year as fun as possible, make sure to put a check by the name Sidney for sophomore president. Sherwin Yee
Hi Everyone! My name is Sherwin Yee and I'm running for the office of President in next year's Sophomore Council. You should vote for me because I know that you know that I am aware of your knowledge that I know you think I think that you thought I know about your thinking of me being an awesome President. Just kidding, but I can do things right. I will do my best to serve my fellow class members and make our sophomore year bomb...... I am prepared for the duties of president, but I still need one thing- your vote. Can I have it? Can I have it? So.....Can I have it?!Thank you!Sophomore SenatorAndersen Shen
Hi guys! I’m Andersen Shen the CURRENT freshman senator, and I’m running for SOPHOMORE Senator. Ever since 4th grade, I’ve ran for various positions of student council. In these past few months as senator, it has become evident that that I should continue being senator for these next few years. As your freshman senator, I help do intramural activities (such as 3-on-3 basketball), monthly House of Representatives meetings, and other various ASB activities. On average, I spend three (sometimes even four of five) lunches a week dedicated to helping out the student body. Therefore, you should RE-ELECT ANDERSEN SHEN FOR SOPHOMORE SENATOR :3 Stephen Lee
Hey everyone! I’m Stephen Lee, and I’m running for Sophomore Senator. This school year I was Freshmen Vice President, which has given me some experience as a leader. Although being in ASB will probably be different and challenging, you can still expect me to work hard and do well for your sophomore year. You can expect me to get the job done and fulfill my duties. I will do my best to make your lives better at school and represent you all in ASB. Please vote for me, Stephen Lee, for your Sophomore Class Senator. Thank You!Nancy Xiao
Peter Griffin, Barack Obama, and John McCain are my idols. Take Griffin for example. Although he is tremendously overweight and has the IQ of a box of hair, he TRIES. He does what he believes is right. Now take President Obama. He defied everything Americans were accustomed to for a chance to bring change to the country he loves.. Former Prisoner of War John McCain inspired me. Hearing about his optimism, even when he was literally being torn apart and tortured, made me realize that life really is whatever you make it. We only go through high school once (hopefully), so this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I hope that when you are 35, it will be remembered as lovingly as the first time you entered Yogurtland or when you got that acceptance letter from Harvard. I will do my utmost to make that happen. My biggest goals are to motivate people to stop littering, get everyone involved in clubs and teams, and inform the incoming freshmen about opportunities Arcadia has to offer. I want to make you LOVE this school!I will try to do what I believe is right, just like Peter Griffin (except the part about messing up in every possible way).Experience should not be the deciding factor. If we always fell into old routines, nothing would ever change, not even for the better. I’ve only had student council experience in 3rd grade and 4th grade. I’m not saying that I will be better than somebody who has 9 years of ASB experience, but I’m not saying that I won’t. I am asking you for a chance to do something nice for the school that we will all come to love, just like Barack Obama (except he was asking for a country). What’s ahead for us? Projects, tests, AP classes, and all night study sessions. That may seem like torture, but we can make the best of it, just like John McCain (except he was getting his bones broken in Northern Vietnam). One last thing! We recently learned about the Communists in history. They could vote, but they didn’t have a choice. Some Americans have the choice but don’t vote. So make sure you use your right and go VOTE! Sophomore Vice PresidentMichael Nguyen
Cool vice prez,Now ain't that nice?So what I'm not Chinese,Man, YOU CAN HAVE WHATEVER YOU LIKEEE(if MICHAEL NGUYEN becomes your VICE PRESIDENT!)Hey guys, I'm the one and only MICHAEL NGUYEN and I am running for SOPHOMORE VICE PRESIDENT! Some of you may think my last name is pronounced nuh-guy-en or new-yen. But actually, my last name is pronounced win. Fascinating, isn't it? Also, I am the only guy running for V.P. this year! That's what makes me so special. But...why should you vote for me? Well, let me tell you a little story... :D Once upon a time in a far away land, there was a young man with much ambition named MICHAEL NGUYEN. He would probably be the coolest and smartest person you'd ever meet. Michael was always so organized, and loved to be a part of his school and make it a better place. Before he moved to Arcadia, he was the president of his old school for two whole years. That's right, two years of presidential experience. So...why stop there? Well, he came to Foothills Middle School examining what running for office was like in Arcadia, and found his major interest in office: vice president. Setting foot on Arcadia High School, he saw his chance to achieve the unthinkable. Now he's back, back in action, to become YOUR SOPHOMORE VICE PRESIDENT.There's my little story for you. Thanks for listening guys! Becca Lu
Hey guys, I'm Becca Lu and I'm running for Sophmore Vice President. You should vote for me because I know how to assist a leader since I was previously drill team co-captain in middle school.Although I have no experience in ASB or Class Council, I'm organized, open-minded, and hard working. So if I'm voted as Sophmore VP, I will be open to any suggestions that you might have, and try to improve in that area. So, VOTE FOR ME, BECCA LU for SOPHMORE VP! (: Kaitlyn Jeong
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to make a difference in someone else’s life? I bet you have; something as small as giving someone a compliment or smiling at someone in the hallway could totally turn their day from the worst day ever to wow, I wish this day would never end. That’s why I, Kaitlyn Jeong, am running for ‘09-’10 Sophomore Vice President. Since I’ve been on ASB before as Dana Middle School’s President and Vice President (‘07-’08), I’ve had that rewarding, warm feeling that only comes from knowing you’ve helped someone out. Being on ASB is so much more than just something to put on your college application. To me, it’s a personal responsibility to make sure that every voice is heard. If you think yours is too small, allow me to act as your megaphone. Help me help you. Every voice counts and I hasten to add that so does every vote. J Ivana Ro
HEY GUYS!! (: As most of you know by now, I’m IVANA RO. *handshake, high-five, hug, whatever you prefer* If you didn’t, well NOW YA DO. Nice to meet you, by the way (: I’m running for the position of SOPHOMORE VICE PRESIDENT. Yea, it’s a long title, but if you guys just keep reading, you’ll be sure to understand just exactly what I mean when I say that I want to represent YOU as VP. . This is my 10th time running fora position in ASB, and I have EXPERIENCE. I’ve been in ASB eh, probably ever since it was invented. After a HAPPY HAPPY year as Freshman Secretary, I’m feeling the need to take on a bigger role that I believe I can fulfill more with my experiences. You can more or less imagine the VP as the mini big cheese…as VP, I can serve not only as a leader, but I’ll be sure to work closely with the president and the rest of the council to fulfill our class’ needs. VP is a unique position that demands leadership as well as commitment, and requires a person who works hard to make sure that the Sophomore President gets his or her goals achieved. So who’s right for this job? IVANA ROOOOO (: If you see me out and about the coming weeks, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself! I love to talk to people, and to truly connect our class has been one of my major goals while serving on Freshman Council. So I just want to leave you guys with one VERY crucial thought...and a GIANT air hug (: VOTE IVANA RO FOR SOPHOMORE VICE PRESIDENT. YEAAA THAT’S RIGHT. It’s a decision you won’t regret, and I’ll try my very best for CLASS OF ’12. WOOO! Sophomore TreasurerCourtney Nguyen
My name is Courtney Nguyen, and I am running for the office Sophomore Treasurer for 2009-2010. This will all be a new experience for me, but with your trust and vote I know I can fulfill this role with the best of my ability. I believe that I have what it takes to hold this position, because I have the drive and dedication for this position; but also because I care about my school and classmates. So remember: "A vote for Courtney, equals wise use of money!" Jessica Namkoong
HEY YOU FRESHIES 0f 08-09! [=We’ve FINALLY made it across Freshmen Year! (= Can you believe it? I can’t! It seems like just yesterday when we came into AHS knowing barely anything about this school. Dang has time this year passed fast or what?! Anyways, it’s THAT time of year again, ELECTIONS!!! My name is JESSICA N A M K O O N G and I’m running for the position of your next year’s SOPHOMORE TREASURER. YAY! :D So, if you guys didn’t know, I am currently your Freshmen Treasurer and man, am I having a blast! I’ve had so much fun this year being a part of the Freshmen Council that I would never want to miss out on a chance to be in the Sophomore Council. If you’re thinking “Can we trust this girl with our money?” then my answer is “Yes, You Can!” From my six years of experience in being involved with the ASB / Council I’ve learned so much about how the system works that I can promise you that I’ll do my job right. I’ve always enjoyed being able to serve my peers (you guys of course ^^) and dedicating all that I have towards the Council. I will always do my very best to contribute my knowledge within the council and to stir up more spirit to our CLASS OF 2012! VOTE FOR ME; I’ll guarantee you an incredible year of *extra special* memories that will last in our hearts forever. Don’t forget, when you see a LONG last name spelling out NAMKOONG on the ballot, make sure to check it and vote for me. Remember, EVERY vote counts and that’s INCLUDING yours!Keep in mind, JESS N.K. is the WAY! [: Glen Liang
Hi my name is Glen Liang and I am running for sophomore treasurer. I have had a semester of experience at First Avenue as an 8th grade student council representative. I had a lot of fun that year planning lunch activities, attending events, and basically making school better for everyone. In fact, looking back at 8th grade, I have decided to run againthis year. I have learned a lot during my hiatus in freshman year, and I am ready to take on class council again. I know I may not have as much experience as others, but what I lack in experience, I will make up with effort. So vote for me, Glen Liang for sophomore treasurer of the class of 2012. Sophomore Secretary Tina Tzeng
Hello, fellow classmates! My name is Tina Tzeng, and I am running for the position of secretary. As a secretary at Arcadia High School, one must learn to keep good track of everything that’s happening around campus without any sort of complaint. I am a note-taking person; I take notes not only because it’s a requirement in some classes but also for fun (who takes notes on Stalin and his five-year-plan for fun? I know I do.) You see, this is a natural habit of mine. This ability to keep track of activities and whatnots makes me the perfect candidate for the position of secretary. Also, in my three years of experiences back in middle school, I’ve learned how it’s like to be in student council, representing our school; furthermore, I have been put in charge of the younger classes outside of school to keep records of improvement. Now, trust me with this. I won’t need a second chance. I’ll get it right the first time. I will do a splendid job on keeping the records, and I’ll be sure to prove myself to everyone that I’m "the one" for this position (: Darlene Diep
My name is Darlene Diep and I’m running for your Sophomore Secretary. In middle school, I was in ASB, so I know how things work. I believe that I am best for this position because I’m responsible and dedicated to making our school more fun and a better place. Additionally, I have diligent and fast note-taking skills. I mean, you should see me in my classes! I write down EVERYTHING the teacher says. Just kidding. I’m not that great at note-taking, but I write down almost everything the teacher orates, which is just as good. The best part is that I have a 100% accuracy rate when it comes to note-taking, excluding my occasional typos. Now, who wouldn’t want a person like that for the job? So, if you want to put me in the position of Sophomore Secretary, all YOU have to do is check the box with my name next to it. Simple right? So on the day of elections, vote for me, Darlene Diep, as your Sophomore Secretary. :) Fannie Chiang
Hello fellow Apaches! My name is Fannie (yes, another name for butt) and as you've probably heard, I’m running for Sophomore Secretary. Not only do I have the experience of being a Secretary, I am always committed to everything I do and there is not a moment where I'm not passionate about what I'm doing. I will always put forth 110% to all your needs and I’ll always contribute ideas to help our school. I’m very responsible and being a Secretary takes a lot of responsibility, so it works out perfectly! If I get elected Sophomore Secretary, I won’t let any one of you guys down because I’ll always try my best. 2010 will be a big and fun year with room for change and improvement, so I’ll be sure to make it happen. Make sure to say hi to me if you see me so I can fully introduce myself to you! Sophomore Boys’ RelationsLawrence Bai
Hey everyone! My name’s Lawrence Bai, pronounced “buy”, “bye”, or “by”, and I’m running for the position of Boys’ Relations. So why should you vote for me? Because, one, I’ve been in student council before, so I have some clue of what’s going on, and two, because I can get along with just about anyone. I was the Vice President at Dana Middle School, so I know some things about student council. I’m also in orchestra, have been since 4th grade. Orchestra has taught me that “It’s a GROUP, not 96 soloists” (Mr.England) so I can work well in a group. So vote for me, because I have the right tools and knowledge to make AHS a better place for sophomores.
Albert Hu
Hi! I’m Albert Hu, and I’m running for sophomore boys relations. You should vote for me because I’m very hard working, and when I set out to do something, I do it. I also have lots of leadership experience, having been a section leader in orchestra and a captain on numerous sports teams. So if you want the best for your sophomore year, vote for who? Albert Hu! Jonah Chou
Hello, my name is Jonah Chou. I think I’m the person for the job because I have had prior experience and I would fit the role well. Previously, I had had one year of ASB and filled that role splendidly. I enjoy working with other people and doing what I can to help them. The main reason why I think I’m the most qualified for this position is because I do care. And where does care come from? Heart. We all have a heart, but how many of us have heart? Remember, boys are as boys go, and Asians are as Asians go, but Jonah Chou is as the right choice goes! Sophomore Girls’ RelationsHolly Vuong
Hey everyone! I’m Holly Vuong, and I’m running for sophomore girls relations. You should vote for me because I am hardworking and dedicated to make your school year better. When I know that I have work to do I will get it done and do it well. I am not the most popular girl in school, but I am pretty sociable and I’m the kind of girl that wants to get to know everyone personally. By doing so, I will know everyone’s opinion on how they want things to work and I will try to get them what they want. So... IF YOU WANNA BE JOLLY VOTE FOR HOLLY! Jessica Koh
Hello class of 2012! My name is Jessica Koh and I want to be your sophomore Girls' Relations officer. I am the best fit for this position because I am diligent, resourceful, and persistent. I will fulfill my duties as your Girls' Relations officer by not just actively contributing to all meetings, but also by leading all our fundraising and class bonding events, engaging the girls of my class, and being creative with new and better ways to attend to your needs. I will be your voice and with me elected, all your needs will be well acknowledged and met to the best of my ability. So vote for me, Jessica Koh, because in these harsh economic times, we need a new hope. We need a change. We need, Kohbama. A new hope has emerged! A vote for me is a vote for prosperity and liberty and freedom. VOTE FOR KOHBAMA! Just kidding about that last part, but a vote for Jessica Koh is definitely a step in the right direction for change! Jasmine Wu
Hey, (your name here)! I’m Jasmine Wu, and if you don’t know yet by that bold “Sophomore Girls Relations” text, I’m running for... you guessed it! Sophomore Girls Relations! To keep it simple and straightforward, I’ll give you three reasons why you should vote for me. Yep, that’s right! THREE reasons only! whichever you want to go with! Why You Should Vote For Jasmine WuReason #1:>> I’m a person who’ll get the job done: I’m organized, responsible, and won’t miss any meetings unless something BIG comes up. Reason #2:>> I have experience in council as the previous Girls Relations, and I know what goes on in organizing fundraisers and other events council does. For those of you still out there scratching your heads and going, “Uhh, what’s that relations thingy?” : Girls Relations basically acts as a representative for the girl population of their class, helps around the council, and attends SCAC meetings – all of which I did as Freshman Girls Relations! Reason #3 (the most important reason):>> I run for YOU. I don’t believe class council is a chance for an individual to raise their self-image or to promote themselves. Class council is an opportunity for a group of students to serve their class! (Class of 2012! Woohooooo!) So yeah, there are your reasons for why YOU should vote for JASMINE WU as YOUR SOPHOMORE GIRLS RELATIONS! Class of 2012 – If you vote for me, you’ll definitely be glad you did! VOTE JASMINE WU FOR SOPHOMORE GIRLS RELATIONS! (: Wendy Wang
Hi! I'm Wendy Wang and I'm running for Sophomore Girls' Relations. You should vote for me because when I have a job, I commit to it. I've also had past experiences being in ASB as director of service, so I listen to my class' opinions and advice they give me to fulfill their needs. I would be willing to put my everything into this job, so vote for Wendy Wang and your life will never be the same ;) |
