ARCADIA HIGH SCHOOL

APACHE REGISTRATION DAY

Welcome to the Apache Registration Process

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY.

Instructions:

Apache Registration Days will take place August 18th – 24th. PTSA volunteers will be present to assist with the Apache Day process to make it as quick and efficient as possible. ALL students MUST show photo ID during Apache Days.  A High School ID or Driver's License is acceptable for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.  A Middle School ID is acceptable for Freshmen.  Students must register during their appointment times ONLY.   It is strongly recommended for ALL students to attend Apache Days to register, receive new ID cards, take yearbook photos, receive class schedules and textbooks, and take advantage of significant discounts on items such as yearbooks and Grad Night tickets whose prices increase once school begins.  No student will attend class unless all necessary Apache Day forms are submitted. After Apache Days, AHS staff and volunteers will not be available to issue ASB/ID cards until the first day of school, which will delay a student’s ability to obtain his/her class schedule and be tardy for his/her first day of class.

If you have any questions, please contact Arcadia High School at 626-821-8370.

If you have technical questions, please e-mail:  This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

Students MUST bring their completed & signed forms to Apache Registration Day at their assigned times.

Please report to Room C-6 at the correct Apache Day Appointment time.

Students will be admitted to the room when all necessary forms have been filled out and signed by the parent(s)/guardian(s).

If you have not completed the forms please allow 1 EXTRA HOUR to complete the forms in Room C-4

(No student will be allowed into C-6 before his/her scheduled time).

Please make sure the Student ID # is on all forms.

Swim Survival Test

All Arcadia High School students must pass the Swim Survival Test or take and pass a swim class in order to receive an AHS diploma.  There will be several days throughout the school year provided for swim survival testing.  Notice will be made after school starts to give students the selected date each month.  Please listen to the student bulletin read during 4th period for information or read a copy of the bulletin posted outside the ASB Office, in the administration office, in many classrooms, or on-line at http://asb.ausd.net .

Seniors will only be allowed to begin the Apache Registration Process if one of the following conditions has been met:

1) Student has taken the swim proficiency test

2) Student has enrolled in a swim class

3) Student has completed and signed a Swim Contract (Swim Contracts are available in the Administration Building, please see Mrs. Von Kreigenbergh for a copy).

Schedule Concerns

Please see the counselors in the Career Center ONLY for one of the following reasons (Note: Career Center has moved to the portable buildings by the parking lots) :

1) Student's schedule is incomplete.

2) Student has been placed in a class he/she has already taken.

3) Student is enrolled in a class he/she is not qualified to take.

4) Student 's schedule is marked “See Counselor."

Keep in mind that students cannot be scheduled for a different elective course, unless they requested it last Spring.  Also, no schedule changes will be made on the basis of teacher preference.  Students may not pick up their textbooks until they get a corrected schedule from their counselor.  After completing the counseling appointment, the counselors will direct students back to the Apache Day Process.

R.O.P.

If students wish to add R.O.P. to their schedule, ROP Counselors will be in the library during their Apache Registration appointment times.  Please stop by and see them if a student wishes to take any ROP class.  R.O.P. is available to any student 16 years of age and over.

(*Note:  The ROP Office has moved to the portable buildings by the parking lots.)

Textbook Pick-Up

Textbooks cannot be issued to a student unless he/she has a CURRENT Arcadia High School ID card.  This is for the student's protection, as his/her textbooks are checked out to him/her using his/her ID number. The student is expected to return the same textbooks when his/her courses end.  Remember that it is each student’s responsibility to get all needed textbooks.  Textbooks will NOT be available from teachers.  Students will not get their textbooks until they have a complete class schedule and all of their forms are turned in during Apache Days.  Textbooks will not be issued during class time on the First Day of School.

A current AHS ID card will be issued during Apache Days.

Do not wait until school starts to get books.

ISIS

The Internet Student Information System (ISIS) is an efficient way to monitor student’s daily attendance, 4-5 week progress reports, class schedule, proficiency testing, and course history. Log on to www.ausd.net/ahs and go to ISIS to register online. For more information regarding ISIS please see Mrs. Harvey in the Administration building during Apache Days.
